
Santos celebrates Neymar’s comeback, saying, “The Prince is back”
Neymar has returned to Santos, the Brazilian team where he and Pele first gained recognition, after leaving the Saudi Arabian team Al-Hilal.
On X, Santos shared a video with the tagline “ThePrinceIsBack” in which Neymar stated: “King Pele, your wish is my command, the throne and the crown are still yours, because you are eternal.”
However, wearing the revered shirt that means so much to Santos and the whole globe will be an honor for the number 10. King, I swear to do all in my power to continue to uphold your legacy.”
Neymar, 32, started playing for Santos in 2009 at the age of 17. He amassed 136 goals and 64 assists in 225 games, which helped the team win their first Copa Libertadores championship in over 50 years in 2011.
After joining Barcelona in 2013, he moved to Paris St. Germain in August 2017 for a record-breaking 222 million euros.
Since joining Al-Hilal from PSG in August 2023 for an estimated 90 million euros ($98 million), Neymar has only appeared in seven games.
