Neymar and Al-Hilal agree to part ways
The Saudi Pro League winners announced on Monday that Neymar has left Al-Hilal by mutual consent following a lackluster stint for Brazil’s all-time leading scorer.
The 32-year-old has had difficulty recovering from a knee injury he suffered during Brazil’s World Cup qualifying match against Uruguay in October 2023.
“Al-Hilal Club Company and Neymar Jr. have agreed to terminate their contractual relationship by mutual consent” On X, the Saudi club posted.
Since joining Al-Hilal from Paris St. Germain in August 2023 for an estimated 90 million euros ($98 million), Neymar has only appeared in seven games.
After departing in 2013 to join Barcelona, Neymar, who has scored 79 goals for the national team, is set to rejoin his hometown club, Santos, according to Brazilian media.
In August 2017, he transferred from Barcelona to PSG for a record-breaking 222 million euros.
