Ariana Grande Gets Nominated for Oscars

Ariana Grande has been nominated for her first Oscar.

The “Thank U, Next” singer has been overcome with emotion after learning that she was shortlisted for the Best Actress in a Supporting Role category at the forthcoming Academy Awards for her portrayal as Galinda Upland in “Wicked” on Thursday morning.

“Picking my head up in between sobs to say thank you so much to @theacademy for this unfathomable recognition,” she posted on Instagram. To no one’s surprise, I can’t stop sobbing.

“Being in such wonderful company and sharing this with tiny Ari, who sat and studied Judy Garland singing Somewhere Over the Rainbow right before the big, beautiful bubble entered, makes me feel humbled and incredibly honored.” Tiny, I’m so proud of you.

“I want to express my sincere gratitude once more for this recognition, @theacademy.”

Ariana continued by praising co-star Cynthia Erivo, who is nominated for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her performance as Elphaba Thropp, and director Jon M. Chu.

“Thank you @jonmchu for taking this chance on me and for being the most incredibly intelligent leader, person, and fierce friend,” she continued. I’m so proud of my lovely Wicked family.

I am really proud of my sister, Elphie, and my beloved @cynthiaerivo. You deserve every bloom (tulip) in every garden because of your endless brilliance. I will always and without conditions adore you.

I’m still trying to breathe, so I don’t exactly have all I want to say yet. But I’m grateful. Thank you very much, my goodness. Marc, Universal, my family, and my heart.

“Oh my, melons, pears, and lemons.”

To the pleasure of director Jon, “Wicked” got ten nominations for Oscars.

“When it’s 5.30am and your movie gets 10 Oscar nominations,” he said with a picture of himself on his Instagram Story, looking astonished and covering his mouth.

Additionally, he posted a video of his ecstatic response when Myron Kerstein won Best Film Editing for the film, and he acknowledged that he “couldn’t be more proud.”

“It’s way too early,” he wrote as the caption for the video. My coffee consumption was excessive. However, I was also rather pleased with our film.

We are really proud of our actors, crew, and everyone else who helped make this film possible.

“The most amazing creative journey I have ever participated in.”
