Finalized Agreement Cornet departs Southampton for a club in Italy

Maxwel Cornet, an Ivory Coast international, has joined Genoa CFC of the Italian Serie A after leaving Southampton FC of the English Premier League.

The Premier League team West Ham United loaned the wing-back-come-winger to Il Vecchio Balordo (The Old Fool) for the rest of the 2024–2025 campaign.

Cornet comes to The Old Fool after spending the first round of the current season on loan at Southampton, where he appeared in just two Premier League games.

A new player for Genoa is Maxwel Cornet. The striker, who was born in Bregbo on September 27, 1996, is on loan from West Ham, where he won the 2023 UEFA Conference League, according to a release.

He has donned the uniforms of Olympique Lyon, Burnley, Southampton, and Metz. He has 252 games, 51 goals, and 29 assists with Olympique Lyon.

with addition to his lengthy tenure with the French youth national teams and several appearances in continental club tournaments, he has 31 games and six goals with the Ivory Coast national team.

Cornet last played for Ivory Coast in 2023, and although he is with Genoa, he will be looking to make an impression on Emerse Fae, the head coach of the Elephants.
