According to Serbian official television, RTS, a terrible fire that started early Monday at a nursing home close to Belgrade claimed eight lives and wounded seven more. Authorities have verified that arson is thought to be the origin of the incident, which started at around 3:30 a.m. (0230 GMT).

Thirty people were inside the house when the fire broke out, according to Luka Causevic, director of the government’s emergency circumstances department. Responding quickly, emergency personnel put out the fire and evacuated the wounded to Belgrade hospitals. One lady is very ill and on a ventilator among the injured, according to RTS.
