Rapper Busta Rhymes is accused of assaulting his assistant and has since surrendered
Busta is scheduled to appear in court on February 2nd for the alleged attack.
After being charged with abusing his helper, Busta Rhymes has handed himself in. According to TMZ, the incident took place at the J Condominium, a unit in New York City, on Friday, January 10. Busta allegedly became angry at his 50-year-old employee Dashiel Gables for using his phone while at work and hit him in the face “multiple times.”
In an official report, Gables informed the police that he had a swollen left eye as a result of the alleged attack. The legendary rapper, né Trevor Tahiem Smith Jr., was charged with three counts of assault on Tuesday, January 14, for his alleged activities. The staffer told the New York Post that Gables has refrained from discussing the specifics of what transpired with bloggers because he does not want to jeopardize his case.
“Perhaps later. In the future, perhaps. Bro, I can’t ruin my case. Simply said, it won’t be worthwhile. a print article rather than a compensation of six or seven million dollars. I’m sorry, but I’m not taking the chance,” he added.
Smith is scheduled to appear in court for the alleged assault on February 2, 2025, according to the New York Post.
Busta Rhymes has been quite active on social media, but he has not yet commented on the situation. The Coming musician has really been using his Instagram to promote his new tune, “Treasure and Gold,” which he co-wrote with YG Marley. Additionally, Rhymes has been advertising Dragon Season, his most recent endeavor.
