No Premier League teams were accused of violating the PSR in 2021–2024

No English Premier League teams have been accused of violating the Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR) for the 2021–2024 timeframe, however Leicester City is still in jeopardy while a legal battle is still continuing.

Clubs who have recorded losses in the first two years of the current three-year span were required to provide the Premier League with their 2023–24 season accounts by December 31. According to the league’s PSR regulations, losses over a rolling three-year period cannot exceed 105 million pounds.

Due to violations of PSR regulations, Everton and Nottingham Forest were penalized eight and four points, respectively, during the previous season.

Leicester, who are presently 19th in the standings despite being promoted from the Championship last season, avoided losing points in September by avoiding a charge related to the three years until the conclusion of the 2022–2023 season.

The club’s appeal against the accusation was upheld on the grounds that Leicester’s accounting period ended after the team had already been demoted to the second division, hence an independent commission judging on the matter lacked authority.

“Confidential arbitration proceedings are currently being conducted to resolve issues regarding the Premier League’s jurisdiction over Leicester City Football Club with regard to PSR compliance,” the Premier League and Leicester stated in a joint statement on Tuesday.

“Accordingly, neither the League nor the club will make any further comment at this stage about any aspect of the club’s compliance or otherwise with any of the PSR or related Rules, save to say that no complaint has been brought against Leicester by the League for any breach of the PSRs for the period ending Season 2023/24.”
