Real Madrid makes important choices following their humiliation against Barcelona
Real Madrid’s management has taken swift action to set a course for the rest of the season after their 5-2 loss to FC Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup final.
President Florentino Pérez has chosen to make cautious moves despite the supporters’ wrath and demands for harsh actions following the humbling defeat. First off, in spite of criticism and calls for his resignation, Carlo Ancelotti will continue to serve as head coach.
In order to ensure continuity in the face of mounting anxiety, Pérez has made the decision to preserve stability and will only assess Ancelotti’s future after the end of the current campaign.
Squad reinforcements are the subject of the second and third decisions. Despite injuries and ongoing problems in the backline, Madrid will surprisingly not bolster their central defense this winter, opting instead to depend on their present lineup and young players.
Nonetheless, the team is resuming its pursuit of Trent Alexander-Arnold, a right-back for Liverpool. After an earlier proposal was turned down, Madrid is ready to make another offer as his contract expires in June. Their resolve to strengthen their areas of weakness while exercising strategic restraint in other areas is demonstrated by this proactive action.
