Meghan Markle Postpones Her Upcoming Netflix Series Due to LA Wildfires

The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan, has postponed her next television show due to the wildfires in Los Angeles.

Originally scheduled to premiere on January 15, the 43-year-old former actress’s new Netflix series “With Love, Meghan” has been postponed until March 4 at her request.

“As we prioritize the needs of those affected by the wildfires in my home state of California, I am grateful to my partners at Netflix for their support in delaying the launch,” she said in a statement.

According to Tudum, a partner website for Netflix, “Due to the ongoing destruction caused by the Los Angeles wildfires, the release of the show — a heartfelt tribute to the beauty of Southern California — has been moved from its previously announced January premiere date to March 4 at the request of Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, and with the full support of Netflix.”

According to earlier reports, friends escaping the flames were welcomed into Meghan and Prince Harry’s house.

According to reports, the royals donated their $14 million Montecito property as a haven for friends and family who had to flee their homes because of the flames, which have compelled over 100,000 people in Los Angeles to seek shelter.

Approximately 90 miles north of the impacted region, Meghan and Harry “have opened their home to friends and loved ones forced to evacuate,” according to PEOPLE.

Along with meeting with impacted families and expressing gratitude to first responders, the pair assisted in distributing food and supplies to Pasadena wildfire victims on Friday.

“They are wonderful people with wonderful personalities and hearts to come out here and meet with the first responders and the people who were affected,” Pasadena Mayor Victor Gordo told Fox 11.

“That’s really crucial. The first responders’ moods were much lifted by them.

The sight of them made many quite delighted. They want to help as much as they can. In sections of Pasadena and Altadena’s burned-out neighborhoods, we paid visits to some of the impacted families.

They invested time in meeting and spending time with those impacted. They just have a great deal of compassion and care for their friends and neighbors.

Parents to Prince Archie, age five, and Princess Lilibet, age three, the pair also released a statement informing locals on how to keep pets and residents who are at risk safe during the calamity.

They stated: “Wildfires in Southern California have ravaged neighborhoods in recent days, destroying homes, schools, medical facilities, and a lot more. Tens of thousands of people from all walks of life have been impacted.”

“There is now a state of emergency. If you feel obliged to assist, here are some ideas and resources to consider.
