To demonstrate their solidarity for the victims of the horrific wildfires spreading through Southern California, Harry and Meghan were sighted on Friday at the Pasadena Convention Center, which is currently a refuge for those evacuated by the Eaton Fire.
The couple spoke with impacted families and first responders who have been fighting the fires nonstop, according to the New York Post.
They started their visit by helping to serve meals to evacuees outside the center at Chef José Andrés’ World Central Kitchen (WCK). Jennifer Siebel Newsom, California’s First Partner, joined the pair.
Harry and Meghan spent time inside talking to families and senior citizens who have been directly affected by the fires.
They later went back to the Convention Center to meet with José Andrés, whose group, WCK, has been actively providing meals at makeshift food stations across Los Angeles County to first responders and wildfire victims.
According to reports, their visit was a covert action meant to give their town significant support without attracting media attention or interfering with rescue work.

Pasadena Mayor Victor Gordo spoke to Fox 11 after the couple left, highlighting their sincere desire to help the town.
“They didn’t come out here for publicity; they came out here to work,” Gordo said. “We went to visit some of the families in the impacted area and view firsthand some of the impacted areas.”
They then wanted to go see the first responders and express their gratitude to them directly for their efforts to support our neighbors and our families,” he continued. They significantly lifted the first responders’ mood.
The Sussexes welcomed wildfire victims inside their Montecito home.
In addition to their community service, Harry and Meghan have shown their sympathy for disaster victims by allowing friends who had to relocate due to the fires to stay at their $29.5 million Montecito house.
The couple urged people to assist relief efforts and take action in a message posted on their website on Thursday.
They gave information about groups that are actively helping those affected, such as 211LA, Airbnb, and World Central Kitchen, who are collaborating to provide free housing to displaced people.
Additionally, they advertised Baby2Baby and All Power Books, which are both giving impacted families necessary resources.
The Duke and Duchess also asked anyone who could assist in making their houses accessible to evacuees.
“If a friend, loved one, or pet has to evacuate and you are able to offer them a safe haven in your home, please do,” the message added. “And be sure to check in with any disabled or elderly neighbors to see if they need help evacuating.”
Wildfires in Southern California: Palisades and Eaton Fires Cause Extensive Damage
This week, the Eaton Fire has surpassed the Palisades flames as the second most damaging fire in Southern California. It was just 3% contained by Friday, having burned about 14,000 acres.
At least five of the 11 confirmed deaths have been linked to this fire, making it one of the bloodiest in recent memory, according to the New York Post. Pasadena is also in grave danger, and entire neighborhoods in Altadena have been reduced to ash.
Over 200,000 people in Los Angeles have been forced to evacuate as the Palisades, Eaton, and Kenneth fires continue to burn, destroying over 5,000 buildings and burning 35,000 acres in total.
