
Golden Globes Winners Round-Up for 2025
“Emilia Perez” won Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy on Sunday, capping off a great Golden Globes night.
The Spanish-language crime comedy won the night’s last and most coveted honor, bringing its overall haul for the evening to four. It defeated competition from “Anora,” “Challengers,” “A Real Pain,” “The Substance,” and “Wicked.”
“Mi Camino” won Best Original Song, Best Motion Picture – Non-English Language, and Zoe Saldana won Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role, Motion Picture at the Beverly Hilton hotel earlier.
“I don’t have sisters, so maybe this is why I made a film about sisterhood,” director Jacques Audiard stated in his first acceptance speech of the evening. The world could be a better place if there were more sisters.
Brady Corbet won Best Director – Motion Picture, Adrien Brody won Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama, and “The Brutalist” came in third place with three. It also took home Best Motion Picture – Drama, the other major award of the evening.
“Shogun” was the biggest winner in the TV categories, taking home four awards, including Best Television Series-Drama and acting recognition for Anna Sawai, Hiroyuki Sanada, and Tadanobu Asano.
The only two TV shows to win multiple awards were Hacks and Baby Reindeer. Hacks won Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy and Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy for Jean Smart, while Baby Reindeer won Best Television Limited Series, Anthology Series, or Motion Picture Made for Television. Jessica Gunning won Best Supporting Actress, Television.
The evening’s other noteworthy winners included Demi Moore, who reflected on being written off as a “popcorn actress” after winning Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy for “The Substance,” and Brazilian star Fernanda Torres, who surprised everyone by winning Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama for her work on “I’m Still Here,” defeating competitors that included Nicole Kidman, the predicted winner.
Top Performance by an Actor in a Comedy or Musical Film was given to Sebastian Stan for “A Different Man,” and Keiran Culkin for “A Real Pain,” which earned him Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role, Motion Picture.
“Wicked” only received one award, for Cinematic and Box Office Achievement, in spite of multiple nominations.
