Four People Injured, One Student Killed in Abuja School Explosion

One kid was killed and four others were injured in an explosion at a school in the Bwari Area Council of Abuja.

One pupil was killed and four others were injured in a sad explosion that occurred Monday at Tsangayar Sani Uthman Islamic School in Kuchibiyu Community, Bwari Area Council, Abuja.

The incident happened about 42 kilometers from the heart of Abuja at lunchtime.

Shortly after the explosion, security guards and emergency responders, including the police bomb disposal squad, arrived on the scene. For medical attention, the hurt pupils were sent to a local hospital.

An unnamed security source disclosed that the deceased student, whose identity has not yet been verified, was carrying what is believed to be an improvised explosive device (IED) when it exploded, although specifics of the incident are yet unknown. Other students became frightened and hurt as a result.

The police have not yet released an official statement, and school officials were not available for comment at the time of this story. The reason of the explosion is still being investigated.
