Meghan Markle Has Joined Instagram Again

The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan, has returned to Instagram.

On New Year’s Day, the 43-year-old former actress posted a 27-second black-and-white video of herself running barefoot on a beach toward the sea to debut her new account, @meghan.

She used her finger to write “2025” into the sand as she approached the placid waves.

Over 3.4 million people, including celebrities like Serena Williams, Chrissy Teigen, and Tan France, have viewed her first post, which was captured on camera by her husband, Prince Harry. In less than a day, Meghan gained over 600,000 followers.

Celebrities who wish to follow Meghan’s activities on the site include Garcelle Beauvais, star of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” and Meghan, who lives in California with Harry and their three-year-old Princess Lilibet and five-year-old Prince Archie.

Before launching her now-defunct “Archetypes” podcast on Spotify in August 2022, Meghan had secured the Instagram handle, which simply featured an image of pink flowers, according to the New York Post’s Page Six story from August 2023.

“Meghan was going to go live on Instagram, but she changed her mind just before she launched her ‘Archetypes’ podcast, so it’s just sitting there now,” a source told the outlet at the time.

The duchess hinted about her comeback to the social media site in an August 2022 interview with The Cult.

“I’m getting back … on Instagram,” she declared.

To establish a social media presence for her lifestyle firm American Riviera Orchard, the former “Suits” actress did, however, briefly return to Instagram in 2024.

She and Harry shared their last upload to the now-defunct @sussexroyal joint account over five years ago, highlighting the world’s vulnerability as a result of COVID-19 and pledging to change things.

“The work continues even though you might not see us here,” it said.

She deleted her account in January 2018 before to her November 2017 engagement to the youngest son of King Charles.
