Joe Budden Faces Charges Following Edgewater, New Jersey, Naked Incident

After a shocking event earlier this month, Joseph Budden Jr., also known as Joe Budden, 44, was charged with lewdness, according to a widely shared tweet on X, formerly known as Twitter.

A Twitter account called @TheOctoberFilm shared a screenshot of Budden’s arrest history on December 29, 2024, along with the following caption:

“Exciting News:

On January 16, @JoeBudden is scheduled to appear in court on a charge of disorderly lewdness, which is associated with sexual misconduct or public indecency. There appears to be more to the story than his earlier assertion that the JBP had to move to a residential building for recording. Keep an eye out.

The Edgewater Police Department released information about the December 4th event in a press release on December 30, 2024. Officers were summoned to an Edgewater apartment complex at around 7:21 a.m., the statement said, after a resident reported a troubling occurrence.

The caller witnessed their neighbor, Joe Budden Jr., standing outside their apartment door absolutely nude after being alerted by their doorbell camera. According to the video, Budden repeatedly tries to enter a code into the resident’s door keypad before running away to his own apartment across the hall.

Budden Jr. was charged with lewdness, a disorderly person’s violation under New Jersey law, after an investigation (2C:14-4a).

“These charges are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt,” Edgewater Police Chief Martin stressed in the press release.

The court date for Joe Budden Jr. is set for January 16, 2025.
