Five are being charged by Argentine authorities for the death of a member of One Direction

Five people have been charged with manslaughter and narcotics offenses in relation to the death of Liam Payne in Buenos Aires.

According to local officials, five people have been accused in relation to One Direction singer Liam Payne’s murder in Argentina.

After falling from a Buenos Aires hotel’s third-floor balcony, the singer died on October 16. The hotel manager, Gilda Martin, the receptionist, Esteban Grassi, and Payne’s buddy, Roger Nores, have all been charged with manslaughter by Argentina’s prosecutor’s office.

Braian Paiz, a waiter, and Ezequiel Pereyra, another hotel worker, are also charged with drug delivery. The prosecutor’s office gathers evidence to present to a judge, who ultimately determines whether the case goes to trial in Argentina.

Judge Laura Bruniard made the decision to move the case forward on Friday, according to the prosecutor’s office. The attorneys for the defendants are entitled to appeal this ruling. The trial phase will begin if their appeals are denied.

According to court document conventions at this point, Judge Bruniard listed the charges against the five defendants in court documents, identifying them by their initials.

EDP, a hotel employee, is charged with distributing cocaine to Liam Payne on October 15 and 16. Additionally, waiter BNP is charged with supplying cocaine to Payne twice on October 14. Payne’s buddy RLN faces manslaughter charges for allegedly failing to fulfill his responsibility of care, support, and aid to Payne, abandoning him while knowing he was addicted to several substances and unable to take care of himself.

GAM, the hotel manager, is charged with manslaughter for allegedly allowing Payne to be carried to his room just before he passed away.

According to the court documents, Payne’s condition made the balcony a “serious threat,” and the management ought to have made sure he stayed secure until help arrived.

ERG, the chief receptionist, is also accused of manslaughter for allegedly ordering three others to “drag” Payne to his room—despite the fact that he was unable to stand—instead of making sure he was safe.

According to Judge Bruniard, Payne’s companion, the hotel manager, and the receptionist created a “risk” to Payne’s life even if she did not think they planned or intended for him to die.

The three could be sentenced to one to five years in prison if found guilty. More serious punishments, ranging from four to fifteen years in jail, are associated with drug supply charges.

The two people accused of providing narcotics in detention have been placed on remand by Judge Bruniard, who has mandated that they appear in court within twenty-four hours.

According to the prosecutor’s office, Payne’s body contained residues of cocaine, alcohol, and a prescription antidepressant in November, as determined by toxicology tests. According to the results of a post-mortem investigation, Payne passed away from “multiple trauma” and “internal and external hemorrhage” brought on by the fall from the balcony.

According to medical records, Payne might have fallen while partially or completely unconscious, leaving out the likelihood that he did so voluntarily or consciously, suggesting that he was not aware of what he was doing.

Police found drugs and broken furniture in Payne’s hotel room after he passed away. In the past, hotel employees had reported a visitor who had consumed excessive amounts of booze and narcotics and was “trashing the entire room” to emergency services twice.

Last month, Payne’s funeral took place in Amersham, Buckinghamshire. In addition to Payne’s fiancée Kate Cassidy and his ex-partner Cheryl, with whom he had a kid, the mourners included his former bandmates Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, and Zayn Malik.
