Cunha of Wolves was suspended for two games following an altercation in Ipswich
The FA announced on Tuesday that Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Matheus Cunha had been fined 80,000 pounds ($100,296.00) and suspended for two games for his altercation with Ipswich Town staff following a Premier League encounter earlier this month.
After they lost to Ipswich 2-1 at home on December 14, the Brazilian grabbed a staff member’s glasses and struck him with his arm, leading to a misconduct charge.
“He was accused of acting inappropriately following the last whistle. An independent Regulatory Commission later issued the penalty after he acknowledged the charge, the FA stated in a statement.
In 19 league games this season, the 25-year-old has tallied 10 goals and four assists.
Cunha will miss Wolves’ FA Cup third-round trip to Bristol City on January 11 as well as their home match against Nottingham Forest on Monday.
$1 is equal to 0.7976 pounds.
