Bowen of West Ham fractured his foot, and Antonio was released from the hospital

The London team announced on Tuesday that Jarrod Bowen, the captain of West Ham United, had suffered a fracture to his left foot during their Premier League encounter against Liverpool over the weekend.

In Sunday’s 5-0 home loss, the 28-year-old forward hobbled out around the hour mark. With five league goals and four assists, Bowen is West Ham’s highest scorer this season.

The fact that attacker Michail Antonio was released from the hospital almost three weeks after suffering a fractured leg in a car accident, however, may give the Hammers hope.

The 34-year-old’s lower leg injury from the Dec. 7 collision was repaired surgically. After the Essex incident, Antonio had to be unloaded from his car and taken to a hospital in central London.

With 68 goals in 268 games, the Jamaican international is the team’s all-time top Premier League scorer.

The team led by Julen Lopetegui is now ranked thirteenth. On Saturday, West Ham travels to Manchester City for a Premier League match.
