Like Musk, Donald Trump supports H-1B visas, saying, “I have many H-1B visas on my properties”

Amid a contentious dispute within the MAGA movement, President-elect Donald Trump recently aligned himself with Elon Musk by expressing his support for immigration visas for highly talented individuals.

“I have consistently supported and enjoyed the visas. The H-1B program, which permits businesses to employ foreign workers in specialized industries, is the reason we have them, Trump said in an interview with The Post on Saturday. One of my properties has numerous H-1B visas. I have been an advocate of H-1B. I have made numerous uses of it. “It’s a great program,” he said, even though he had previously criticized the program and limited access to foreign worker visas during his first term.

Along with other tech executives, Musk stressed the value of the H-1B visa in enabling American businesses to hire highly skilled workers, who would not be easily accessible in the American labor market. Trump should prioritize American labor and tighten immigration limits, according to MAGA hardliners, who are opposing the push for an expanded program.

Trump’s statements followed Musk’s vehement response to detractors, including an X user who made fun of Musk’s justification for the H-1B visa. “H1B is the reason I’m in America with so many important people who built SpaceX, Tesla, and hundreds of other companies that made America strong,” snapped Musk in response. Additionally, he declared that he would “go to war” on the matter, a position that has garnered both praise and criticism from prominent individuals like as Steve Bannon and Laura Loomer.
