The daughter of John Amos starts an investigation and demands answers regarding his death

Months after John Amos’ death in October, his daughter is still looking for answers.

According to TMZ, Shannon Amos, John’s daughter and co-trustee of his estate, has engaged lawyer James H. Davis III to look into unresolved issues about her father’s last days, such as his medical treatment and the circumstances of his passing.

Shannon would like to know why her brother, Kelly Christopher Amos (KC), who was taking care of John, did not bring her father to Centinela Hospital Medical Center in Los Angeles when he was hospitalized. She claims that when this person dropped John off, they made a bogus claim to be his daughter.

Shannon has also complained about what she sees as the hospital’s lack of collaboration. She has made three official requests for her father’s medical records, but she has not yet received any. According to her attorney, this delay calls into question whether John’s medical condition was appropriately addressed during his stay and the kind of care he got.

Shannon also wonders if Adult Protective Services sufficiently looked into the elder abuse claims she made in early 2024, which further complicates matters. She also questions if the facts surrounding her father’s death have been thoroughly investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department.

The Amos family has been through a lot lately, with a strained dynamic brought on by claims of elder abuse and familial strife. Shannon had previously accused KC of mistreating their father, preventing family members from seeing John in his last days, and having him cremated as soon as possible to supposedly avoid an autopsy by the police.

Shannon’s attorney stressed the value of openness in a statement, stating, “The family deserves to know the full circumstances surrounding Mr. Amos’ care and the events that led to his passing.” We’re determined to use every resource at our disposal to find the answers to these queries.
