A Michigan man was arrested for allegedly launching a “copycat” attack against his employer after UnitedHealthcare CEO Slaying

A Michigan man has been imprisoned for allegedly stabbing the president of the company he worked for at a staff meeting in what officials are describing as a potential “copycat” attack akin to the murder of Brian Thompson, the CEO of UnitedHealthcare.

The event happened at Anderson Express Inc., a manufacturing company, last week. According to reports, 32-year-old Nathan Mahoney carried out the attack while Erik Denslow, the company’s president, was presiding over a staff meeting. Around 9:20 a.m., Mahoney left the meeting abruptly, but ten minutes later, he came back, stabbed Denslow, and fled in his car, according to the Fruitport Township Police Department.

But fifteen minutes later, police pulled Mahoney over and took him into custody. According to reports, Mahoney worked for Anderson Express Inc. for just a few weeks. While detectives continue to try to determine what caused Mahoney to lose his temper, his coworkers described him as calm.

Deputy Chief Greg Poulson stated, “We haven’t ruled out a copycat motive in regard to this.” “We’re searching through all of his electronic media and social media accounts in an attempt to identify a motivation behind this act.”

Regarding Denslow, the president is in a serious but stable condition after undergoing surgery after the incident. Mahoney is presently being charged with both evading the police and assault with intent to murder.

In a statement, the business stated, “Our first thought is with our president, who has a good prognosis for a full and speedy recovery.” “We are also committed to helping our staff cope with this senseless attack.”
