President Joe Biden grants clemency to Terry “Southwest T” Flenory, co-founder of BMF
President Joe Biden has granted clemency to Terry “Southwest T” Flenory, co-founder of the notorious Black Mafia Family (BMF). This action is indicative of the ongoing initiative to pardon individuals who were released from prison and placed in home confinement during the coronavirus pandemic.
For their involvement in an international drug trafficking operation, Terry and his brother Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory were sentenced to 30 years in federal prison in 2008. The COVID-19 pandemic, however, significantly altered the landscape, particularly in prisons, where the health hazards were elevated.
Terry capitalized on the pandemic’s leniency measures by being released from federal prison in 2020 to serve his sentence under house arrest. As a result of the president’s pardon, his sentence has been commuted. Through an Instagram post, Flenory commemorated the occasion.
A photo of his clemency affidavit and videos of him cutting off his house arrest device were included in the accompanying statement, which read, “It has been a journey, but prayer and unwavering faith beyond mere human comprehension have brought us to this point.”
Flenory, who is recognized for his leadership in BMF alongside his brother, has been a prominent figure in contemporary culture and media, including the Starz television series “BMF,” which dramatizes their lives.
Given the criminal organization’s extensive connections to Atlanta, the fact that the program is predominantly shot there is entirely appropriate. Although Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory, his sibling, has not been pardoned, there have been modifications to his incarceration status. He was transferred to a residential reentry program in Miami in October, which seems to be a preliminary step toward his eventual release. The post below features a unified image of the siblings.
