Legendary musician Jose Chameleone’s son issues an emotional appeal amid his father’s health challenges
Abba Marcus Mayanja, the eldest son of the renowned Ugandan musician Jose Chameleone, has disclosed his father’s persistent battles with substance addiction and health.
Abba encouraged fans, promoters, and well-wishers to unite in their support of the hitmaker during this critical period in a poignant Instagram video.
Abba stated, “My message is intended for all individuals who appreciate my father’s music, regardless of their opinions regarding his lifestyle or actions.” “I acknowledge that he is flawed; however, God placed us on this earth to love and care for one another.” “This is a time for compassion.”
Abba disclosed that his father is currently experiencing acute pancreatitis, a severe condition that is associated with protracted alcohol consumption. Chameleone’s family and fans were profoundly concerned about his well-being after he was rushed to the hospital on December 12 due to a sudden illness.
Abba reiterated, “This is not about condoning my father’s substance abuse.” “The objective is to unite in order to provide him with the assistance he requires.” We must take action immediately if we wish for him to continue to be a member of our family and community.
The 23-year-old also criticized event promoters for continuing to book his father despite his visible health decline, implying that their actions prioritize profit over Chameleone’s welfare.
Jose Chameleone, who recently celebrated two decades in the music industry, has been a dominating figure in East African music for decades, with chart-topping songs such as Shida za Dunia and Valu Valu.
