Ariana Grande says she won’t be doing any more music for a few years

Ariana Grande says she won’t be doing any more music “for the next few years.”

The 31-year-old pop sensation made her big-screen debut this year as Glinda in the first of two successful adaptations of the Broadway classic “Wicked.” After her label denied reports that she was planning a massive 2025 tour, Ariana clarified that her current focus is on “exploring different forms of art.”

“I feel so grateful to the acting, and I think my fans know that music and being on stage will always be a part of my life, but I don’t see it coming anytime soon,” she said this week in an interview with Variety. Acting, in my opinion, is currently feeling like home, and I hope that in the coming years we will be experimenting with other artistic mediums.

“I appreciate [my fans’] comprehension.” I’m so appreciative of how we’ve developed as a team during the entire “Wicked” adventure. However, music will always play a role in my life.

“I’ll perform at my mother’s house,” Ariana joked.

“There are no plans for a tour next year, but Ariana remains deeply appreciative of her fans and all the continued love, support, and excitement,” a statement from Ariana’s record label, Republic Records, read.

In March, Ariana’s seventh studio album, “Eternal Sunshine,” was released.

In the meantime, this week saw the official release of the second movie, titled “Wicked: For Good.”

In an explanation of the name’s genesis, Ariana, who co-stars with Cynthia Erivo (Elphaba), recalled: “We had [‘For Good’] printed on our original scripts, the hard copies that we were originally given.”

“The scripts were printed with it from the beginning, but we were kicking around other possibilities. We became quite attached to it, so I’m delighted it’s official now.

“It’s just the perfect title because this project has truly changed us for good,” she continued.

The release date of “Wicked: For Good” is set for November 21, 2025.
