The FBI says the Madison, Wisconsin school shooter planned a second attack with a 20-year-old friend
Samantha Rupnow, the shooter at a school in Madison, Wisconsin, was reportedly planning another mass shooting with a 20-year-old friend.
Alexander Paffendorf from Carlsbad, California, is accused of planning an attack on a government building with Rupnow. CBS 8 got a copy of a gun violence protection order that said FBI agents found Paffendorf’s conversations with Rupnow and learned about his plans to attack the building.
Police can take away guns because this is a civil case and not a criminal one. The restraining order says that Paffendorf told the FBI important information in an interview.
In an interview with the FBI, Paffendorf admitted that he had told Rupnow that he would get explosives and a gun and attack a government building. This is what the two-page order from the Carlsbad Police Department says. It was also said that the FBI “saw the messages from Paffendorf to Rupnow.”
The order was signed by a judge in San Diego Superior Court at 8:51 p.m. on December 17. Not long after that, neighbors saw a lot of cops at Paffendorf’s house.
Alex Gallegos, a neighbor, said, “They had their full guns out all over the street.” “There were police cars here, and there were about 15 of them.”
Gallegos said he saw police officers holding a “black gun box,” but he didn’t see any arrests.
“That this could happen so close to home sounds pretty crazy and scary,” he added.
The lawsuit comes after a terrible shooting at Madison’s Abundant Life Christian School, where 15-year-old Rupnow killed two people and hurt several others before killing herself.
