Report: As NBA franchise values reach an average of $4.6 billion, the Warriors take the lead

There is a Big Three in terms of franchise worth in the NBA, where a Big Three player combination frequently performs well on the court.

In its yearly evaluation on Wednesday, Sportico declared that the Los Angeles Lakers, New York Knicks, and Golden State Warriors are by far the league’s most valuable teams.

According to the research, the Lakers, Knicks, and Warriors are valued at $8.07 billion, $8.3 billion, and $9.14 billion, respectively. Although the Dallas Cowboys ($10.3 billion) are the most valuable team in American sports, Golden State is regarded as the second value.

The assessments cover team-related businesses like WNBA franchises as well as the real estate owned by the owners.

The average value of an NBA club is $4.6 billion, which is almost twice as much as it was four years ago and 15% more than it was last year.

The Warriors received a 10% increase in valuation from 2023, and they will have an affiliated WNBA expansion franchise starting next year. There was a 10 percent increase for the Lakers and a 12 percent increase for the Knicks.

The Brooklyn Nets, which are worth $5.7 billion, are ranked fourth on the list, up 43% from their 13th-place placing the previous season. According to Billboard, as of April, the Barclays Center, home of the Nets, was the highest-grossing arena in the world.

The Los Angeles Clippers ($5.68 billion), Boston Celtics ($5.66 billion), Chicago Bulls ($5.56 billion), Miami Heat ($5 billion), Houston Rockets ($4.77 billion), and Toronto Raptors ($4.66 billion) complete the top 10.

The Lakers and Celtics are the only teams in the top 10 that do not own their stadiums.

The Memphis Grizzlies ($3.06 billion), New Orleans Pelicans ($3.09 billion), and Minnesota Timberwolves ($3.29 billion) are the three teams at the bottom of the list.

NBA franchises have a higher value-to-revenue ratio than any other major U.S. sports league, according to Sportico. MLS comes in at number two on that list, followed by the NFL, NHL, WNBA, NWSL, and MLB.
