The health ministry of Congo claims that the unidentified illness is acute malaria

The health ministry of the Democratic Republic of the Congo declared on Tuesday that a sickness that had not yet been named was a severe type of malaria that was circulating throughout the Panzi health zone of the country.

The sickness killed 143 people in the southwestern Kwango province in November, according to local authorities earlier this month.

“At last, the riddle has been resolved. In a statement, the health ministry stated, “It’s a case of severe malaria in the form of a respiratory illness… and weakened by malnutrition.”

Additionally, it stated that 592 cases with a 6.2% death rate have been reported since October.
