Pereira is agreed to become the new manager of Wolves

According to a report from Sky Sports on Tuesday, Wolverhampton Wanderers agreed to hire Portuguese Vitor Pereira as their new coach after Gary O’Neil was fired.

Pereira is presently the manager of Al-Shabab, the Saudi Arabian team that currently sits sixth in the Saudi Pro League.

He has previously held managerial positions at Flamengo, Fenerbahce, Olympiakos, and Porto. O’Neil was let go on Sunday after Wolves’ losing run put them in the relegation zone of the Premier League.

Wolves and Al-Shabab have reportedly come to a financial and personal understanding, according to Sky Sports.

It is expected that 56-year-old Pereira will sign a one-and-a-half-year contract. Wolves did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Wolves lost 2-1 at home to promoted Ipswich Town on Saturday, extending their losing streak to four league games. With nine points from 16 games, Wolves is currently ranked 19th in the standings.
