John Mahama, the president-elect of Ghana, is received by Tinubu at State House

John Mahama, the president-elect of Ghana, paid Tinubu a courtesy call at the State House after traveling to Nigeria.

John Mahama, the president-elect of Ghana, visited President Bola Tinubu in Abuja as a courtesy after Tinubu won the country’s general elections on December 7, 2024.

In a tweet on his verified X profile on Tuesday, presidential aide Dada Olusegun revealed the visit, which was held at the President’s official residence at the State House.

The specifics of their conversations were not disclosed, though.

A few days prior to Mahama’s arrival, President Tinubu had congratulated him on his election over the phone and expressed the hope that his second term would promote more stability in the West African area.

Ghanaians’ dedication to democracy was praised by ECOWAS Chairman Tinubu, who described the country as an example of political stability and open governance in Africa.

He reiterated the region’s support for the people’s right to freely select their own leaders.
