Prince Indah, Brenda Wairimu, and Sarah Hassan are honored nationally

Prominent entertainment personalities Sarah Hassan, Brenda Wairimu, and Luo Ohangla musician Prince Indah were among 142 Kenyans awarded the prestigious Order of the Grand Warrior (OGW) by President William Ruto during this year’s Jamhuri Day celebrations at Uhuru Gardens.

One of the highlights of Jamhuri Day celebrations is the awarding of national honors, which honor people for their outstanding service to the country and accomplishments to respective fields.

Prince Indah, whose real name is Evance Ochieng Owino, has made a big impact on Kenya’s thriving Ohangla music industry. Prince Indah, who is well-known for his catchy beats and poignant lyrics, saw his career take off with hits like Adhiambo and Osiepe. He has gained national recognition and a loyal following thanks to his ability to fuse traditional Luo rhythms with contemporary sounds.

In the classic local TV serial Tahidi High, Sarah Hassan first won over viewers’ hearts as the endearing Tanya. With notable roles in critically praised movies and television series including Plan B, Crime and Justice, and Just In Time, she has since developed into one of Kenya’s most versatile actors.

“Very honored to have been awarded the title,” the single mother wrote after obtaining the OGW to express her thanks. I appreciate your unwavering support, everyone.

In Kenya, Brenda Wairimu has long been well-known due to her performances in TV dramas such as Monica and Mali. Throughout her career, she has received praise from both critics and the general public for her ability to portray a variety of characters with nuance and realism.

The ceremony also saw the awarding of the second-highest title in the Order of the Golden Heart, the Elder of the Golden Heart (E.G.H.), to Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu.
