Jay-Z’s lawyer asks the alleged victim of rape to reveal her identity

“Mr. Carter should not have to defend himself in the brightest of spotlights against an accuser who hides in complete darkness…”

Diddy is currently in court, and JAY-Z is the first famous person to be linked to his problems. The Brooklyn rapper was recently added to a case against the Bad Boy founder, who is accused of raping a 13-year-old girl together in 2000.

After Roc Nation released Hov’s official response to the accusations, his lawyers have now filed a motion to have the Jane Doe in question reveal her name or have the case thrown out.

CNN says the filing, which was turned in on Monday (Dec. 9), says, “Mr. Carter shouldn’t have to defend himself in the brightest spotlights against an accuser who hides in complete darkness while leveling allegations that describe the alleged acts occurring in plain sight of witnesses who could refute the plaintiff’s claims if only her identity was revealed.”

The After the Video Music Awards in 2000, Jane Doe says she was raped by both JAY-Z (real name Shawn Carter) and Diddy (real name Sean Combs) when she was 13. The alleged events happened at an after party. She says she went into a bedroom after getting drunk at the party and getting lost. Then, both men and an unnamed famous woman walked into the room. The suit says she was raped by Carter while Combs and the woman watched, and then Combs sexually attacked her.

In his Roc Nation statement, Hov said that the accusations are “so heinous that I implore you to file a criminal complaint, not a civil one!!” Wouldn’t you think that someone who would do something like that to a child should be locked up? Those who say they were victims would deserve real justice if that were true.

The 4:44 artist also called the lawyer Tony Buzbee, who is behind the claim and more than 120 others against Combs, a “ambulance chaser in a cheap suit” who is trying to get money from him.

Since then, Buzbee has responded with a tweet (X): When asked about the Jay Z case and his attempts to silence my clients, Mr. Carter said he wasn’t the one who sued me and my company. “He used a fake name to file his pointless case,” he typed. “What he doesn’t say in his new statement is that my firm sent his lawyer a demand letter on behalf of a supposed victim, who never asked for any money from him.” So, she only asked for a private discussion.

“Ever since I wrote the letter for her, Mr. Carter has sued me and tried to pick a fight with this plaintiff and me.” The reverse effect has been caused by his actions. She feels stronger. I believe in her strong will. Concerning the claims made in the complaint, we will let the lawsuit speak for itself. The facts will be fought in court, not in the news.
