Yanga will recover in CAFCL, according to Ramovic

Sead Ramovic, the head coach of the Young Africans, believes his squad can win the CAF Champions League despite losing their first two games in Group A.

Yanga lost 2-0 to MC Alger in Algiers on Saturday, dropping them to the bottom of the group. They already have a long way to go before they can advance to the knockout stages.

Ramovic has only been in charge for three weeks, having taken over from Miguel Gamondi on November 15. He has already admitted that the players need to get more fit and that they are still getting used to his attitude.

Against El Mouloudia, the Germans also stated that they were much missing their injured foursome of Dickson Job, Khalid Aucho, Shadrack Boka, and Clement Mzize.

We are attempting to improve our fitness levels, but they are not at their optimal level. My style is being adopted by the players, which takes time. “This loss is disheartening, but we will keep working hard and get better,” he stated.

Although we have twenty-five talented players, we still need to work on our defensive organization and compactness. Since effective defense creates the conditions for more effective attacks, the first offensive move is to defend well.

“Playing without four key players who are starters is difficult. Without a doubt, these injuries had an impact on our performance.

The game repeated the 2-0 defeat to Al Hilal, with Ramovic’s team falling down just after the hour and giving up a second goal in the closing seconds.

“This is where we should defend better, of course,” he continued in response to Ayoub Abdellaoui’s opening goal in the 64th minute. In order to tie the score, we then attempted to deploy more attacking players up front, but we lost a crucial chance in the closing minutes.

Although it’s not the beginning we were hoping for, I have a lot of faith in this group. We’ll work hard to make this better. Doubt is not an option.
