Taylor Swift Sold Eras Tour Tickets for More Than $2 Billion

Taylor Swift’s “Eras Tour” sold over $2 billion worth of tickets.

After her 149th and last performance in Vancouver, Canada, on Sunday, 08.12.24, the “Cruel Summer” hitmaker announced that her $2,077,618,725 ticket sales are quadruple the gross ticket sales of any previous concert tour in history. She has been touring for the past 21 months.

Taylor Swift Touring verified to the New York Times that 10,168,008 people attended the performances, which means that tickets sold for an average of about $204 each. Resale prices are not included in the calculations.

96,006 individuals attended Taylor’s performance in Melbourne, Australia on February 16, 2024, making it the largest single audience she has ever played for.

Additionally, 753,112 individuals saw the “Karma” singer perform during her eight appearances at London’s Wembley Stadium, which is about the same number of people as live in Seattle.

Taylor thanked her audience during Sunday’s final performance for making the “Eras Tour” “the most exciting, powerful, electrifying, intense, most challenging” experience of her life.

“The tour has been different from any tour I’ve ever done in so many ways I can’t count, but I’d like to tell you a few,” the 34-year-old singer remarked as she introduced “All Too Well.” Since I was fifteen years old, I have been touring, and this is essentially what I would do initially. After recording an album, I would embark on a tour that would be named after the album.

After that, I released so much music so fast that I had to come up with a new strategy. I sincerely hoped you would enjoy it, so I came up with the concept of the “Eras Tour.”

The most bizarre aspect of this has been that, thanks to your customs and passion, you guys have transformed this into something entirely different from anything I’ve ever done in my life, which is why this tour has been the longest.

“I never imagined that penning a single paragraph about friendship bracelets would inspire you all to create friendships, make friends, and cheer each other up. The fact that you have created such a space of joy, togetherness, and love is the tour’s lasting legacy, and I genuinely couldn’t be more proud of you. That’s all you are.

Later in the performance, Taylor congratulated her band and staff, calling the tour the “adventure of a lifetime.”

On behalf of my band and crew, who all left their families and spent time away from everything they know and love, she said: “This tour has been the adventure of a lifetime. They made sure this show happened for you when they were sick or when anything was going on in their lives.” You gave us that moment, and we will always remember it.

Taylor hugged her dancers and backup singers at the end of her last song, “Karma,” which featured a lyric alteration in honor of boyfriend Travis Kelce, “the guy on the Chiefs.” Unlike at previous performances, when she exited via being lowered beneath the platform, Taylor chose to walk out with her crew.
