The Secret to Singer Craig David’s Success: His Spiritual Upbringing

Craig David credits his achievement to the fundamental principles of his parents’ religions.

The 43-year-old musician, who was eight years old when his parents divorced, discovered that the core of their beliefs was a feeling of “community” and “love,” which he has incorporated into his own songs. His mother Tina is Jewish, while his father George is Christian.

“Every different faith has different ways of getting to the same thing, which ultimately is community and bringing people together,” Craig exclusively told BANG Showbiz during his speech at “The National Lottery’s Big Bash” at London’s OVO Arena Wembley on Wednesday, 04.12.24.

“And the foundation of everything I discovered truly came from my parents in the way I was raised, whether it was my mother picking me up from school or my grandmother preparing that chicken casserole for me.”Love is the fundamental element that you begin to perceive, aren’t they?

“And when it comes to creating music, I wanted to sing those songs in a very poetic way, and I also didn’t realize how much of an impact it would have on other people.”

Craig is moved by the impact his music has on others.

“Man, who would’ve thought that would’ve been a part of me?” he said. “People have married to my songs, gone on vacation where they met their partner, and remember where they were and who they were with.”

The “7 Days” singer asserted in 2022 that in addition to his spirituality, he is clairvoyant and clairaudient, which means he can hear people from the past and future and know what is ahead.
