Arteta claims that Arsenal was just a hair’s breadth away from winning

Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, commended the home team for their early goal and tenacious defense, but he also stated his team did everything they could have done to win on Sunday against Fulham.

“Gutted that we didn’t win it because I think we deserved to win from the beginning to the end,” Arteta stated to reporters.

Raul Jimenez of Fulham opened the scoring at Craven Cottage, and William Saliba gave the Gunners an equalizer at the beginning of the second half.

Despite Arsenal enjoying 70% of the possession and giving Fulham six corners, Fulham managed to hold on for the draw. More than any other side in the league, Arsenal has already scored 23 goals from corners since the beginning of the previous campaign.

“We did almost everything that we had to do to win it,” Arteta stated.
“You can’t cry over it since this is the league’s and the opposition’s quality. “With a really dominant win, we could have been here for millimeters,” he remarked.

“If you don’t score three, four, or five, it’s never enough. I want to win 11 if the opposing teams play 11 direct balls. He declared, “We want to win 100%.”

With a victory at home and a draw at the Emirates last season, Fulham proved to be a pain in Arsenal’s side.

However, when questioned if they would have let up the early goal to Jimenez had injured defender Gabriel Magalhaes been available on Sunday, Arteta defended his makeshift back line.

“I can’t guarantee that it wouldn’t occur with other staff. “You have to give the opposition credit sometimes,” he remarked.

“The entire unit needed to be changed. Injured athletes are unavailable, that’s all. He praised defender Jakub Kiwior in particular for filling in for Gabriel, saying, “We have to respond to that, and I’m very happy with the way they did.”
