Papadakis and Cizeron, former Olympic ice dance champions, retire

Guillaume Cizeron and Gabriella Papadakis, the former Olympic ice dance champions from France, announced their retirement on Tuesday.

The 29-year-old Papadakis and the 30-year-old Cizeron took home gold in Beijing four years after winning silver at the 2018 Pyeongchang Games.
“We could not have dreamed of a more beautiful career,” they stated in a statement.

We would never have achieved the pinnacle of our craft without the help of our trainers, parents, federation, choreographers, physical and mental coaches, costume designers, agents, physiotherapists, physicians, supporters, and media.

“We choose to turn the page with a great deal of thankfulness. We would like to express our gratitude to the public for joining us on the ice. We remove amazing memories.

In addition, the pair won five European titles, two Grand Prix finals, seven French national championships, and five global titles, including their most recent victory at home in Montpellier.
