Lady Jaydee Connects UMG EA With A Distribution Agreement

Universal Music Group East Africa (UMG EA) has signed Tanzanian veteran vocalist Lady Jaydee, popularly known as the “Queen of Bongo Flava,” to a distribution agreement. She was honored at the Bongo Flava Honors for her outstanding contribution to the development of Bongo Flava music one month prior.

Lady Jaydee is commemorating her 25 years in the music business at the time of the transaction. She is pleased to sign a contract with UMG East Africa to celebrate her entrance into Tanzania’s “Hall of Fame.”

The agreement highlights Lady JayDee’s abilities as a musical force in the area and validates UMG EA’s expanding portfolio in East Africa.

Lady Jaydee, who was born Judith Mbibo in 1979, began her musical career in the 1990s. She began as a rapper before discovering a new career route that made use of her voice. She received a lot of love and support from Tanzania, Kenya, and other East African nations for her amazing, top-charting, and occasionally female empowerment songs, which has been the foundation of her solid legacy.

By releasing music, touring, and performing in Tanzania, Africa, and beyond, as well as by serving as a judge on reality TV shows like The Voice Africa, Lady Jaydee has revolutionized Bongo Flava music. She has nine studio albums and more than thirty local and international awards to her name.

UMG EA is creating new opportunities in the area and bringing local talent to the global stage with its expanding stable of gifted East African musicians. Lady Jaydee is one of the UMG musicians poised to further influence the industry.
