Who was Dr. Faustine Ndugulile, who has passed away?

Dr. Ndugulile, who has passed away, was born in 1969.

He served as the Regional Director for WHO AFRO in the African Region.

He served as the Minister of ICT and as the Deputy Minister of Health in Tanzania in 2017.

He served as a practicing medical doctor, and subsequently as a public health specialist, a politician, and a lawyer.

His popularity surged significantly during the COVID-19 pandemic when he openly opposed the use of ‘nyungu’ as a treatment for the virus at a time when it was being promoted; he was subsequently dismissed from his role as the Deputy Minister of Health and Social Welfare, with many attributing this decision to his stance.

He was one of the few parliamentarians who openly supported scientifically validated preventive measures for COVID-19, such as handwashing, using sanitizers, wearing masks, and ultimately receiving the COVID-19 vaccine.

He was elected under a CCM ticket.
