The queen of bongo funk, Lady Jaydee, signs a deal with Universal EA

Tanzanian singer Lady Jaydee, who is also known as the “Queen of Bongo Flava,” has made a deal with Universal Music Group East Africa (UMG EA) to carry her music.

She was admitted into the Bongo Flava Honors a month ago for her important role in the growth of Bongo Flava music.

Lady Jaydee is marking 25 years in the music business at the same time as the deal. After being inducted into Tanzania’s “Hall of Fame,” she is happy to sign a deal with UMG East Africa to mark the occasion.

The deal confirms UMG EA’s growing lineup in East Africa and shows how great Lady JayDee is as a musician in the area.

Lady Jaydee was born Judith Mbibo in 1979, and she began making songs in the 1990s. She first became a rapper, but then she found a new way to use her voice. Her strong reputation was built on making amazing, top-charting songs that sometimes pushed women’s rights. People in Tanzania, Kenya, and other East African countries loved and supported her.

Lady Jaydee has been a pioneer in the development of Bongo Flava music by releasing music, touring and performing in Tanzania, across Africa, and around the world, and by being a judge on reality TV shows like The Voice Africa and more. She has won over thirty local and international awards.

With a growing list of skilled East African artists, UMG EA is giving people in the area more options and bringing local talent to the world. The new UMG singer Lady Jaydee is ready to change the music business even more.
