Judge Turns Down Diddy’s Request to Home Arrest

Sean “Diddy” Combs asked to be put under house arrest on his private island in Florida, but the judge said no.

In a court meeting on Friday, lawyers for the 55-year-old rapper, who is currently in jail in New York awaiting trial on charges of sex trafficking and racketeering, suggested that Diddy could be held at his home on Star Island in Florida.

Us Weekly says that US District Judge Arun Subramanian turned down the plan, saying, “That is not going to work.”

Diddy’s team then came up with a different idea: they asked if the rapper could be put under house arrest at his flat on the Upper East Side.

They offered protection 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with two guards in the three-bedroom house with Diddy and a third guard stationed downstairs.

They also said that this arrangement would be “substantially more restrictive” than the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center, where he is being held at the moment.

For the fourth time, Diddy asked for bail. A decision will be made next week.

Combs has been in jail since September, when he was charged with sex trafficking, racketeering, and transporting people to engage in prostitution. His trial is scheduled for May 2025.

Early this month, he was also hit with five sexual misconduct accusations from clients of attorney Tony Buzbee.

It was said that Buzbee was defending more than 100 people who say they were hurt by Combs.

Combs has denied sexually abusing anyone, and after the first wave of complaints from Mr. Buzbee’s clients, his lawyers said Combs could not “address every meritless allegation in what has become a reckless media circus.”

They made it clear that he “emphatically” rejects sexually abusing anyone.
