Flick is worried about Barcelona’s bad form without Yamal

Barcelona’s recent form is very worrying, even though manager Hansi Flick admitted on Monday that they lost their second straight LaLiga game. However, the German is hoping that forward Lamine Yamal will soon be able to return from injury and help the team.

But Flick’s team can get back to winning ways without him when they host Brest in the Champions League on Tuesday. The Spanish youth is still healing from a sprained ankle.

At a press conference, Flick said, “We all know how talented he is and how his skill on the field can change a game.”

“Lamine has a quality that gives you more control of the ball and makes the other team give us more space.”

“I hope and think that this is the last game he has to miss because he looked great in practice today, but we’ll have to wait.” I hope he can play on Saturday. He might come off the bench, but we’ll see.

After an amazing seven-game winning streak that began in October, Barcelona lost 1-0 at Real Sociedad and tied 2-2 at Celta Vigo. Yamal was not present for either game.

Flick, who took over as manager of Barcelona in May, said that a win against Brest would be a good way for his young team to learn how to deal with problems.

“The important thing is to win and that is our focus for tomorrow’s game,” he said.

“We want to teach them, and I always think positive, it’s a young team and during the season it’s normal to have times like this, for me the important thing is to learn from it.”

Defender Inigo Martinez helped his team get through without Yamal.

“We know how important Lamine is… he gives us a lot, is a difference maker who pushes the defensive line back, he is aggressive, generates assists and a lot of fear in the opponent,” Martinez added.

There’s no doubt that the next player will be just as good as him, even though he is vital and very important.

Someone who wants to play for Barcelona needs to be able to do so at the top level. This talk that we can’t win without Lamine (Yamal) will go away the day he doesn’t play, and we win. The team has enough players to win every game.
