Giants let quarterback Daniel Jones go

The NFL team said on Friday that quarterback Daniel Jones was let go by the New York Giants. This comes after their fifth straight loss, which dropped their record to 2-8.

The former first-round pick will be put on the bench for backup quarterback Tommy DeVito, the Giants said this week. This comes after their 20–17 overtime loss to the Carolina Panthers in Munich earlier this month.

After a week off, they will play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday.

“This morning Daniel came to see me and asked if we could free him. “That’s what we both thought was best for him and the team,” Giants owner John Mara said in a tweet.

“We’re all unhappy with how things turned out.” Daniel is very important to us, and we appreciate him a lot.

Jones has had a tough season. He has thrown for 2,070 yards, thrown seven interceptions, and scored only eight scores.

He told reporters on Thursday, “This season has been disappointing for all, and of course I wish I could have done more.” This made people think about his future.
