Tedros, the head of the WHO, says he is back to work after being released from the hospital

On Thursday, the head of the World Health Organization said on the social media site X that he had been released from a hospital in Rio de Janeiro after staying there overnight.

“I felt unwell yesterday afternoon and was admitted to Samaritano Barra Hospital in Rio, but I was discharged this morning and am back to work,” said Ghebreyesus.

Tedros is 59 years old and has high blood pressure. He was in Rio de Janeiro for the G20 summit, where he met with other world leaders and U.S. President Joe Biden to push for better cooperation between countries in health crises.
