Guardiola has signed a one-year contract extension with Manchester City

The UK Guardian reports that Pep Guardiola’s new contract with Manchester City does not include a break clause.

This suggests that regardless of whether the Premier League champions face relegation, Guardiola will remain with the team.

There have been speculations concerning the Spaniard’s future at the Etihad. Guardiola, however, is ready to quell the speculation by agreeing to a one-year contract.

The updated agreement features an option for a one-year extension.

Furthermore, should an independent commission determine that the club has engaged in financial misconduct, it is reported that a no-break condition would come into play if the team is relegated from the top division.

Despite City consistently asserting their innocence and denying the accusations leveled against them, Guardiola has previously indicated that a severe punishment would make him more inclined to remain with the club.
