Justice: Wissam Yedder was given a two-year prison term

Wissam Ben Yedder was punished for sexual attack while drunk. The Frenchman got a two-year prison term that was later suspended.

34-year-old Wissam Ben Yedder hasn’t played football in a while. Going through a real fall into hell, the striker is defending himself in court. Although the former AS Monaco player was already in trouble with the law last year for an alleged rape case, he has had to explain himself for several weeks for sexual assaults that allegedly happened while he was drunk in September. With a blood alcohol level of 0.76 mg per liter of inhaled air, WBY admitted to being addicted to alcohol in court on October 15.

After talking about his alcoholism, Ben Yedder

“It’s been a troublesome time.” I had issues with my contractors and my wife. I’d been drinking for four or five days. Drinking more and more made things worse. Issues have been bothering me for two years now. I had been drinking before, but only in small amounts and irregularly. Feeling better, I believed it could help me forget about the stress. Family duties require my attention; it was tough to handle. I wasn’t myself after drinking two bottles in a row. While drunk, I knew what I was doing was wrong and I should have stopped, but I wasn’t myself.

Thereafter, he told the Nice criminal court, “I’m a loner, I have trouble trusting people.” Numerous times, I’ve been lied to. My only escape was drinking, but now I see that it was the worst decision of my life. I cannot recall what happened because I had been drinking. I have memory problems because of the drinking. If the person who complained forgives me, please forgive my family. During the process, the prosecutor asked for one of the football player’s harshest punishments: 18 months in jail and 18 months of probation that would not be served.

His crime is recognized, and he is punished.

The former Sevilla and TFC player got his sentence this Monday. His guilty verdict was reported by RMC Sport in France, which included driving while drunk, refusal to follow police orders, and sexual assault. Although he wasn’t there for the verdict, he was given a two-year suspended prison term for sexual assault while drunk. Moreover, the courts gave him a duty of care, and he needs to pay the victim 6,500 euros as compensation. In specific, he needs to pay her 5,000 euros in moral damages and 1,500 euros in court fees.

Additionally, WBY needs to pay 5,000 euros because he refused to follow the rules. Additionally, his driver’s license was taken away for six months, and his father’s car was given back to him. No relief yet for Ben Yedder; he has been under court supervision for a few weeks now because of a case of rape and sexual attack from 2023. Along with his brother Sabri, he has been charged and will have to answer for what he did at the end of December in relation to the psychological abuse he did to his wife while they were getting a divorce.
