11 individuals sustained injuries due to turbulence on a Lufthansa flight heading to Frankfurt

The airline said on Tuesday that eleven people were hurt when a Lufthansa (LHAG.DE), opens new tab flight from Buenos Aires to Frankfurt hit rough seas over the Atlantic.

A Lufthansa spokesperson told Reuters in an email that five passengers and six staff members were hurt, but the injuries were mostly minor. This confirmed a story from the DPA news agency.

The representative also said, “The safety of the flight was not in danger at any time.”

The hurt got medical care right away after the plane arrived safely at its destination on Tuesday at 10:53 a.m. (09:53 GMT), according to the airline.

The Boeing 747-8 had 329 passengers and 19 crew members on board. The company said the rough weather happened in an intertropical convergence zone and was short.

In May, an air pocket over the Irrawaddy Basin in Myanmar shook a Singapore Airlines passenger plane so hard that 30 people were hurt and one person died of what was thought to be a heart attack.
