Harris asks the US to “keep Calm-ala” prior to the election as he begins “Saturday Night Live”
Three days prior to her matchup with Republican Donald Trump, Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris gave the U.S. presidential election a shocking shock by making an appearance on the comedy show “Saturday Night Live” on Saturday.
Harris played herself, showing up in a mirror across from Maya Rudolph, the actress who portrays her on the program, as she anxiously gets ready to give a campaign address. The two, wearing similar black suits and pearls, changed Harris’ first name, claiming that Americans want to “end the drama-la” in politics “with a cool new stepmom-ala.”
They all said, “Keep Calm-ala and carry on-ala,” simultaneously.
“I don’t really laugh like that, do I?” After Rudolph mimicked her characteristic chuckle, Harris inquired.
“A little bit,” said Rudolph.
Throughout the show’s decades-long history, it has featured numerous presidential contenders, and Harris was making her debut visit.
Before taking a plane to Detroit in the battleground state of Michigan, Hillary told reporters on the tarmac, “It was fun.”
During his initial presidential campaign in 2015, Trump made an appearance on Saturday Night Live, where he made fun of his propensity to exaggerate and avoid discussing concrete policy issues. He made an appearance in 2004 as well. On Saturday, a Trump adviser stated that he was unsure if he had received an invitation to make an appearance this year.
Trump and Harris’ planes shared the Charlotte, North Carolina, tarmac earlier Saturday as the two contenders participated in a series of dueling rallies in the southern state that will decide Tuesday’s election result. The candidates were campaigning in the same state for the fourth consecutive day.
According to a survey released on Saturday, Harris is unexpectedly leading in Iowa, a state that Trump won handily in the previous two elections, but only seven states are seen to be actually competitive.
“TALENTED WHITE SKIN”
During their presentations, Trump and Harris adhered to well-known topics.
Trump said that if Harris prevails, “Every town in America would be turned into a squalid, dangerous refugee camp.” He also stated that if elected, he would deport millions of immigrants.
While campaigning in Atlanta, Harris claimed that if Trump were to return to the White House, he would misuse his position of authority.
“This individual is becoming more and more unstable, fixated on retaliation, consumed by grievances, and the man is seeking unbridled power,” she stated.
In an indication of voter excitement, the University of Florida’s Election Lab reports that over 75 million Americans have already cast votes.
Michael Bitzer, a political science professor at Catawba College, said that the western counties in North Carolina that were damaged by Hurricane Helene seemed to be voting about the same as the rest of the state.
Trump said that he ran for government to save the economy from “obliteration” during a rally in Salem, Virginia, despite the fact that it would have been simpler to unwind at one of his properties on the coast.
His words were, “I didn’t need to be here today,” “I could have been standing on that beach, my beautiful white skin getting nice and being smacked, being smacked in the face by a wave loaded up with salt water.”
Women from a nearby collegiate swim team who had protested against competing against transgender athletes joined Trump on stage. Trump has attempted to take advantage of transgender issues in several of his television advertisements.
