Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson Responds To Sharelle Rosado, His Ex-Fiancée, Declaring Their Divorce—”You didn’t need to be so outspoken”

As previously reported, Sharelle Rosado announced on X on October 26 that she and Ochocinco were once again for sale following some subtle indications of a potential breakup.

The former NFL player shared his true sentiments on an episode of Night Cap with co-host Shannon Sharpe after reposting the announcement with a depressing meme.

Ochocinco revealed that he was surprised by Rosado’s choice to make it public on social media after requesting Uncle Shay Shay to mediate a resolution between the two to get things back on track.

He said, “You might be watching, and you don’t have to be so public.”

Additionally, he disclosed that he hasn’t discussed a reconciliation with Rosado and that he is now barred from speaking with her.

“If the stove is still hot, there’s no need in touching it. He said, “I got to let the stove cool down.”

Serenity, the couple’s daughter, was born in 2022 after they became engaged a little more than a year earlier.

PEOPLE reports that Johnson proposed to Rosado in Miami in 2023 when she was surrounded by family and friends and gave her a 7.5-carat diamond.

“I’m genuinely surprised! I can’t think of anything to say. At the time, Rosado remarked, “This was really lovely, and seeing my family and friends here to celebrate our love really did it for me.”

Her engagement to Johnson, she added, was “the next step of our beautiful journey together,” as she told PEOPLE.

“He used to constantly tell me, ‘I’m going to make you my wife,’ when we first started dating, which is why I’m so emotional,” Rosado added. “Even though I knew deep down that we were meant to be, it’s even more special now that it’s official than I could have ever imagined.”
