The ’60 Minutes’ interview with Kamala Harris has led to Trump suing CBS

In a court filing on Thursday, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump accused CBS of deceiving him about an interview with Democratic opponent Kamala Harris that was broadcast on the network’s “60 Minutes” news show in early October.

The network allegedly broadcast two distinct answers from Harris in response to a question concerning the conflict between Israel and Hamas in Gaza, according to the complaint, which was submitted to a federal court in the Northern District of Texas.

The lawsuit claims that Harris’ “word salad” statement on the Biden administration’s effect on Israel’s war conduct was left out of the version that appeared during the “60 Minutes” segment on October 6.

According to a CBS News spokeswoman, “Former President Trump’s repeated claims against 60 Minutes are false.” “The lawsuit Trump has brought today against CBS is completely without merit and we will vigorously defend against it.”

Ahead of Tuesday’s U.S. presidential election, Trump and Harris square off in what polls indicate will be a close contest.

According to the filing, the lawsuit sought roughly $10 billion in damages and a jury trial. It claims infractions of a Texas law that forbids dishonest commercial practices.

On the campaign trail, Trump has criticized the network on numerous occasions over the incident and has vowed to cancel CBS’s broadcasting license if elected. According to CBS, Trump canceled his own scheduled appearance on “60 Minutes.”
