Eight people are killed in a cult attack in Uganda, including a three-year-old

Authorities say suspected members of a cult attacked a town in Uganda and killed eight people, including a three-year-old child. The attack was aimed at families and was very violent.

On Tuesday night, people thought to be from a cult attacked the town of Mizizi A in Uganda’s Kagadi district. At least eight people, including a three-year-old child, were killed. Eight more people were hurt in this violent attack, which the police call an act of extreme violence.

The attack happened in the small village, which is about 250 km (150 miles) west of Kampala, the capital city. According to early findings by the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF), the attackers, who were identified as members of a new group, went after family members. A UPDF spokesman said, “Preliminary information shows that members of a new cult whose name has not yet been established descended on people, most of whom were family members, and cut them.”

According to the local cops, four of the people who died were children younger than 13 years old. This shows how sad the event was. While the investigation goes on, security forces like the military and police are actively looking for the people who did this. As security forces arrived at the scene, they killed two of the suspected attackers. This shows how quickly steps are being taken to restore order and catch the people guilty.

Concerns have been raised in the area, especially since Kagadi is close to the Kingfisher oilfield, which is one of Uganda’s most important crude oil projects and is run by China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC). The officials, on the other hand, say there is no proof that the oilfield was a target or part of the attack.

While investigations are going on, the police are asking people to stay alert and work with the security forces to stop any more violence. The attack shocked everyone in the town, and people are still trying to come to terms with the deaths and the pointless violence done by people who used to be family.
