Ratan Tata, a deceased Indian billionaire, leaves his dog a $118 million fortune
Ratan Tata, an Indian business magnate, has bequeathed a sizeable portion of his £91 million ($118 million) wealth to his dog.
In his will, the billionaire gave his Alsatian Tito “unlimited care” after he passed away earlier this month at the age of 86.
The founder of Jaguar and Land Rover was allowed to leave his enormous wealth to anybody he desired because he was never married and had no children.
Tata chose to give his dog, his cook Rajan Shaw, and his general helper and butler Konar Subbiah his millions.
How the funds were distributed among the three parties is unclear.
Tito stayed at his master’s side till the end of his life, and Suhel Seth, a close friend of Tata’s, praised the amount of money he gave the three of them.
“He’s made very, very generous provisions for them,” he remarked.
“They will receive excellent care and never have to work again.”
